Policy on business cards

The policy of the ICS department is that all members of our community are allowed to have business cards expressing their affiliation with the ICS department.

This policy comes with the following caveats:

  1. You must obtain your business cards through the official UH process.   You cannot go to an internet business card site and print up business cards that indicate a UH affiliation.  The reason for this prohibition is that in the past, there have been incidents where business cards were created that misrepresented the owner’s affiliation with the University and the department.  By requiring the business card to be obtained through UH, we can ensure that the business card represents your affiliation correctly.
  2. If you are faculty or administrative staff, then you are entitled to one package of business cards at departmental expense.  Each time you receive a promotion or change in title, you can get a new package of business cards with your new credentials.
  3. If you are a student research assistant working on a funded research project under the supervision of an ICS professor, then you may ask your professor if it is possible for you to receive business cards funded by the grant.  If the professor agrees, then you can obtain business cards at no personal expense.
  4. If you do not fall into any of the above categories, then you can obtain UH business cards at your own expense.  To do so, please contact Wesley Sugimoto for details on the process to be followed. In general, these “personally paid for” business cards will be ordered once or twice a year.
