The Department of Information and Computer Sciences (ICS) at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa is proud to announce the official launch of the ICS Aloha Intelligence Initiative (Aii) website. This new website highlights cutting-edge AI research, educational programs, community partnerships, and ongoing research projects directed towards positively impacting Hawaiʻi and the world.
The website features:
- An interactive overview of current and upcoming AI research projects
- Detailed descriptions of ICS degree programs and AI-related courses
- A people directory with faculty and graduate undergraduate students working on AI projects
- A facilities page spotlighting AI and visualization facilities
- Clear pathways for community engagement
“We built this site to make our work transparent, accessible, and locally grounded,” said Guylaine Poisson, ICS professor and Department Chair. “AI has immense potential — especially when designed in partnership with the community and in a responsible way.”
Visitors are encouraged to explore, connect, and stay updated via the News & Events section. Future events include community workshops, and broadened educational outreach.
