The Hawai‘i affiliate of the National Center for Women in Information Technology (NCWIT) held an award celebration on March 3. Several local students received Aspirations in Computing (AiC) awards. “NCWIT Aspirations in Computing (AiC) offers awards that honor aspirations, abilities, technical accomplishments, and influential guidance.”
- Hawai‘i Affiliate winners of the Award for Aspirations in Computing were:
– Cindy Mo,Roosevelt High School
– Leilani Phan, Kalani High School - Leilani Phan also received National Honorable Mention
- Hawai‘i Affiliate Honorable Mentions were awarded to:
– Tiffany Liang, Roosevelt High School
– Stephanie Lee, Kalani High School
– Kristalyn Loo, Kalani High School - Isabella Romero was awarded Hawai‘i Affiliate Rising Star
The Hawai‘i Affiliate Aspirations in Computing Educator Award went to Bryan Silver who teaches at Kalani High School.
The ceremony was hosted by ICS Professor Martha Crosby, ICS Faculty Specialist Michael Brian Ogawa, and College of Education Faculty Specialist Trúc Nguyen.
