Congratulations to ICS students Kobey Arai, Alyssia Chen, William Liang, Yong-Sung Masuda and Gavin Peng for winning Best Presentation and taking 2nd Place overall at the international Meteor Hackathon. They competed against 94 other teams.
The students built an application dubbed CarbonZero within the one-week competition period. CarbonZero allows users to track and cultivate their sustainability habits by applying theories of social norm and social comparison. Users of CarbonZero can calculate their sustainability score based on their lifestyle and consumption. Based on this score, users can compare themselves to others.
