The ICS Department is excited to welcome incoming Assistant Professors Anthony Peruma and Peter Washington!
Anthony holds a Ph.D. in Computing and Information Sciences and a Masters in Software Engineering from the Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences at the Rochester Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor’s in Computer Application from Bangalore University, India. Anthony’s research aims to improve developer productivity by constructing a linguistic model to assist developers in identifying poor-quality identifier names and recommending appropriate replacements. Anthony also possesses hands-on experience in the software development industry, working on software projects for clients in multiple industries. In Fall 2022, Anthony will offer a graduate seminar on Software Quality Assurance.
Peter holds a Ph.D. in Bioengineering (specializing in AI for healthcare) and an M.S. in Computer Science (specializing in Human-Computer Interaction) from Stanford University, and a Bachelor’s in Computer Science from Rice University. Peter’s research interests include machine learning for health and wellbeing, crowdsourcing for precision health, and precise digital interventions. In Fall 2022, Peter will offer a graduate seminar on Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence.
