How to: Add a Tech Report

How to add a tech report to the repository in the ICS Department website.

You must have a registered account with the ICS website in order to be able to add tech reports.  If you would like to request an account, please email (ics-webmeisters-l AT hawaii DOT edu).  For more information on who can request an account, please see our User Policies page.

Login in to your account and follow these steps to add a tech report:

1) Go to the Tech Reports folder

2) In the green editing menu, click "Add New..." > "file"

3) In the TITLE textbox, enter the tech report number (using the numbering scheme: ICS<year>-<month>-<number>), a colon, the title of the tech report, a hyphen, and the comma-separated list of authors.

4) In the DESCRIPTION textbox, enter "Abstract:" followed by a brief abstract.

5) In the FILE area, select your tech report (must be a PDF file).

6) Important: Go to the "Settings" tab above the title entry box, check the box that says "exclude from navigation".

7) Click "Save" at the bottom of the page

8) On the far right of the green editing menu, click "submit".

Finished!

NOTE: After submission, your tech report will go to the Webmaster for approval and you will be notified by email when it is published and available for viewing by everyone.
