Seminar: "Renewable Energy and Island Sustainability" (5/7/2009)

On Thursday, May 7 at 12:00 noon, there will be a lunch-time orientation meeting (with food!) for graduate and undergraduate students regarding REIS (Renewable Energy and Island Sustainability), funded by the UH Sustainability Grant:

The meeting will include a brief overview of the project, the Green Holmes Hall Initiative, and possible opportunities for undergraduate and graduate student participation from Engineering, Computer Science, and other disciplines.
The REIS project involves renewable energy research and education in a broad range of topics from renewable energy production, storage, and integration to smart grid research to energy conservation to island sustainability applications.
The meeting will be from about 12- 12:45. Following some short presentations in the Don Kim lab (POST 214) there will be drinks and pizza. If you are interested in coming please RSVP to gailsh@hawaii.edu by Tuesday evening.
This project is led by Professor Tony Kuh in the Department of Electrical Engineering. Professor Philip Johnson from ICS is a member of the team and will talk about opportunities for ICS students at this meeting.
