ICS Ph.D. graduate Michael Gowanlock now an Assistant Professor at Northern Arizona University

Dr. Michael Gowanlock, who obtained his Ph.D. from ICS in 2015 (dissertation title: “In-Memory Distance Threshold Searches on Moving Object Trajectories”; advisor: Prof. Casanova), and  was a postdoctoral researcher at Haystack Observatory at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology for 2 years, was recently hired as an Assistant Professor  in the School of Informatics, Computing, and Cyber Systems at Northern Arizona University.  Dr. Gowanlock’s research interests are multi-disciplinary in the broad area of astro-informatics.
